JOSEPH SANDRI
Joe is CEO of Thought Delivery Systems, Inc., which is active in 5G infrastructure operations, applications, and research & development through its Cardinal Communications division. The parent company is also active in software and mapping development in the social media and environmental and social governence (ESG) sectors. Mr. Sandri has been an executive officer with multiple publicly traded corporations. He most recently was co-president of FiberTower Corporation which was sold to AT&T on February 9, 2018. He was president of IDT Spectrum prior to FiberTower. He serves on several boards in the technology and public service sectors. Prior to his executive experiences he served in private practice for a Washington, DC law firm, representing numerous Fortune 100 companies in telecommunications matters. Mr. Sandri has training and experience in communications law, journalism and radiofrequency engineering. He holds a Certification from the Institute for Communications Law Studies and a Juris Doctor from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, and a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Maryland – College Park. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a long-standing board member and current President of the National Spectrum Management Association (NSMA). He is on the board of the Archangel Ancient Tree Archive. Prior to law school he was Sport Director and Sports Anchor for CBS Television affiliate WRBL-TV.
JAMES S. TURNER (In Memoriam) (1941-2022)
Jim was a founding member of the Balance Group, and his wisdom and experience and pursuit of balance remains a guiding light. Jim was a principal at Swankin & Turner, who represented businesses as well as individuals and consumer groups in a wide variety of regulatory matters concerning food, drug, health, environmental and product-safety matters. He had appeared before every major consumer regulatory agency, including the Food and Drug Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Consumer Product Safety Commission and Federal Trade Commission, as well as the Department of Agriculture and the National Institutes of Health. Jim had served as special counsel to the Senate Select Committee on Food, Nutrition, and Health and to the Senate Government Operations Subcommittee on Government Research. He had also been a policy consultant to major corporations in the food, pharmaceutical and telecommunications industries, including such companies as Kraft Foods, The Quaker Oats Company, Hoffmann-LaRoche and AT&T. Mr. Turner was the lead attorney on a successful petition to the FDA to reclassify acupuncture needles from Class III to Class II medical devices, permitting their legal importation and distribution. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University School of Law.“
BETSY E. LEHRFELD, ESQ.
Betsy E. Lehrfeld is a principal in the Washington, DC law firm Swankin & Turner, which advises and represents individuals, businesses, nonprofit organizations and consumer groups in a wide variety of regulatory matters concerning food, drugs, dietary supplements, medical devices, integrative health, environmental hazards, and product safety. She has appeared before the Food and Drug Administration and has served as general counsel to numerous nonprofits. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley School of Law (Berkeley Law), she currently serves as Secretary and Executive Director of the National Institute for Science, Law, and Public Policy (NISLAPP) and as a board member of Citizens for Health.
MARIANNA ARCHIBALD
Ms. Archibald graduated Cum Laude from Harvard with a degree in Environmental Engineering and a minor in Earth and Planetary Sciences and has experience in large-scale project development and implementation. She has held several project management roles ranging from overseeing a government grant in Sydney, Australia focused on studying the Urban Heat Island Effect to being the Sustainability Manager for a commercial architecture and construction firm to designing and implementing residential and commercial solar systems. Ms. Archibald has a strong passion for environmental sustainability and climate action.
